11 Jun CASA ORGANIZES THE 22nd ANNUAL SIX-A-SIDE SOFTBALL CRICKET TOURNAMENT
CASA , the voice of the shipping industry organizds the 22nd CASA annual six-a-side Softball Cricket Tournament on 15th February 2020 at the NCC grounds.
This was the most awaited sporting event of the year for all CASA members and the popularity of the tournament has grown over the years not only among the members but also with other stakeholders due to the high standards maintained by the organizers during the game. There were 51 Gents teams and 18 Ladies teams enrolled for this year’s tournament and a large number of spectators attended the event to support the participating teams.
This tournament was initiated many years ago, with the hope of building camaraderie amongst employees of different shipping agents, which has undoubtedly contributed to building a better working relationship amongst these shipping agents. Apart from CASA members, every year there’s active participation of Sri Lanka Ports Authority, South Asia Gateway Terminal, Colombo International Container Terminal, Sri Lanka Customs, Colombo Dockyard and Hambantota International Port Group which makes the tournament more competitive and glamorous.
Salota International emerged as winners in the Gents tournament and Evergreen Shipping won the ladies tournament. The Mini Tournament was won by the Sri lanka Ports Authority team.
